IT Governance
Overview
The College of Medicine’s IT Governance framework ensures that technology decisions are transparent, collaborative, and strategically aligned. By coordinating priorities across education, research, and administration, IT Governance strengthens efficiency, fiscal sustainability, and accountability.

Recent Projects
Here are some of the recent projects that have moved forward through the IT Governance process.
BioDigital
BioDigital is an online 3D anatomy platform that allows students and faculty to explore the human body in interactive detail—from individual organs to full body systems. Faculty can customize these models, making them part of lectures, case discussions, quizzes, and self-study materials. This helps students better understand complex structures and how they relate to different diseases and conditions. BioDigital will integrate with our future LMS, Canvas.

Asana
Asana is a project management tool that helps teams organize tasks, track progress, and communicate effectively. It was identified as a critical tool to support the College of Medicine’s strategic plan and the TOP ED initiative, ensuring alignment and coordination across multiple teams. The platform will serve as the primary system for tracking large projects within the PMO and COMIR. Implementation will begin with a soft launch, followed by a COM-wide rollout supported through training, communications, and best practice sharing.
