GSAC Graduate Student Advocacy Council

The University of Illinois College of Medicine and Graduate College presents the “Graduate Student Advocacy Council” (GSAC) which has been established with the intent of supporting and promoting collective interests of our graduate students and faculty across University of Illinois, Graduate College and College of Medicine, including the regional campuses. This council has been created for career advising, mentoring, wellness, and the importance of diversity which brings a sense of community to our students and faculty.

Mission Statement:  This organization and subcommittees are to ensure that the voice of students and faculty are heard in all aspects of the student experience at UICOM and the Graduate College.

Sub-Committees:

  • Culture: The mission of the culture sub-committee is to advocate and promote the importance of diversity for all graduate students and faculty to create a supportive environment with UICOM and Graduate College Community.

  • Careers:  The mission for the career sub-committee is to enhance mentoring by developing partnership and resources that shares knowledge, skills, and information which fosters personal and professional growth for our students and faculty.

  • Wellness: The mission of the wellness sub-committee is to provide social/emotional support for UICOM and Graduate College students and faculty throughout their academic career and foster a community that values wellbeing.

Committee Members: Julie Mann, Mia Johnson, Lexie Socovich, Amynah Pradhan
