Dean’s Scholarship
Illinois Residents
A maximum of 3 Illinois Residents are selected for the Dean’s Scholarship each year. This scholarship will cover the cost of tuition at the College of Medicine each academic year for a maximum 4 years (10 semesters total,including summer).
Non-Illinois Residents
Approximately 20 students Non-Illinois Residents are selected for the Dean’s Non-Resident Scholarship each year. This scholarship covers the difference between resident and non-resident medical tuition each academic year for a maximum 4 years(10 semesters total, including summer).
Eligibility for the Dean’s Scholarship
If a student is selected for the Dean’s Scholarship, the recipient must be enrolled as a University of Illinois – College of Medicine student and must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year. Only those selected at the time of admission are eligible; no other financial aid application is necessary. In order to qualify, scholarship recipients must also meet the following criteria:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
- Must enroll for at least 6 credit hours each semester
- Must meet the requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress* each semester
