8th Annual Vitals Patients’ Choice Awards List University of Illinois at Chicago Educated Physicians as Top Ranked Nationally

Physicians who received their education and training at the University of Illinois at Chicago have been voted nationally as leaders in the annual Vitals Patients’ Choice Awards. This distinction is based upon more than 6 million patient reviews and ratings gathered over the course of the previous calendar year, conducted by an independent consumer survey company, “Vitals.”
Mitch Rothschild, Founder and Executive Chairman for Vitals says, “We believe these awards are useful in helping consumers search for and select the best qualified doctor.” Rothschild also noted, “Everyone wants a knowledgeable doctor. And in today’s busy world, people want a doctor that values their time and doesn’t keep them waiting. Vitals Patients’ Choice identifies the physicians who patients value for many reasons.”
According to Vitals, patient review data is run through algorithms to determine the list of physicians eligible for the award recognition and only 5% of doctors nationwide are named as a Vitals Patients’ Choice Award winner. As a measure of the impact of medical schools on patient care, Vitals ranked the medical schools by where the top doctors received their education. UIC ranked #1 as the school with the highest impact across the nation. Vitals also compared all award-winning physicians and noted that these top ranked physicians had an average of two more years of experience than their colleagues and had a 20% less wait time for patients.
