The University of Illinois College of Medicine is excited to welcome Rita B. Winters as Assistant Dean of Human Resources, effective July 8, 2024.
Rita will oversee all aspects of the College’s human resource function. This includes supporting the identification, development, and implementation of strategic human resource plans and goals. Additionally, she will define and shape College policy and procedures relating to human capital management, employee relations, education and training, professional development, organizational development, and performance management.
In her career, Rita has extensive experience in both higher education human resource management as well as management consulting experience with higher education institutions. She previously served as Associate Dean of People, Planning, and Infrastructure at the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, managing financial, administrative, operational, and IT initiatives. Prior to that, she worked in the central HR group at Northwestern on recruitment, employee relations, and compensation issues. Most recently, Rita served as a higher education consultant for Huron Consulting Group, offering her expertise in organizational design and the implementation of DEI initiatives. Rita holds a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University as well as a master’s degree from Northwestern University.
