137th Commencement Ceremony
The 137th Commencement Ceremony of the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine was celebrated Friday, May 10, 2019, at Credit Union 1 Arena. The College of Medicine graduated, from all of its various degree programs, a total of 353 students. Of those 353, 306 have met all the requirements of the MD degree program, and constitute one of the largest graduating medical school classes in the United States. The Class of 2019 includes 183 who have completed the MD degree in Chicago; 49 in Peoria, 49 in Rockford, and 25 in Urbana-Champaign.
Future Physicians Meet Their Match
It’s a moment when lives are changed and career paths determined. More than 300 students from the four campuses of the University of Illinois College of Medicine learned their residency placements on Friday, March 15, during Match Day 2019.
“This is a pretty awesome way to start a new job,” UI COM Executive Dean Mark Rosenblatt told the students moments before they, and thousands across the country, opened their envelopes simultaneously at 11 a.m. “With you at the helm, the future of medicine is truly bright.”
