UI COM Hosts Marcella Nunez-Smith, MD, MHS for the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series
On Tuesday, November 19, we were honored to host Marcella Nunez-Smith, MD, MHS, for the Dean's Distinguished Lecture Series. Her presentation entitled, "20 Years as a Health Equity Researcher: My view from Research, Government, and Non-Profits," explored the intersections of these three sectors as vital sites for the advancement of healthcare and health equity. Dr. Nunez-Smith also met with UI COM students for a discussion on mentorship and finding professional partnerships that serve their career goals.
A recording of her lecture is available here.
The Dean's Distinguished Lecture Series was launched in the fall of 2022 in order to highlight research topics that integrate efforts by multidisciplinary teams. The series is designed to expose all members of the UI COM community to leading-edge science and researchers that explore the depth and breadth of scientific knowledge and technical expertise.
