About

Yolanda Campbell, MPH serves as the Assistant Director of Student Development at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Urban Health Program. In this role, working closely with the COM-UHP Director, she is responsible for developing initiatives and strategies for students underrepresented in medicine through recruitment, admissions, retention, academic advising and career coaching. Yolanda also directs the Post-baccalaureate Admissions and Summer Pre-matriculation Bridge Programs to prepare students for a successful transition to medical school.

Ms. Campbell has more than 20 years of experience developing and managing pipeline and health promotion programs in community-based and higher education settings. Prior to the University of Illinois College Of Medicine, she has worked as the: Director of Operations at Near North Health Service Corporation in Chicago, Health Careers Program Manager at the University of Michigan Medical School’s Diversity and Career Development Office, and Associate Director for Health Promotion and Community Relations at the University of Michigan’s University Health Service.

She is originally from Detroit, Michigan and received both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan. Yolanda’s passion is in the development of students and helping them to realize their full potential.
