Craig Scholars Program
Intro Heading link
The Craig Scholars Program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UI COM) is a competitive program that provides financial support and mentorship to medical students who are interested in conducting research during the summer between their first and second years of medical school. The program is open to all UI COM medical students, regardless of their prior research experience.
Scholars are awarded to students who have identified a research mentor and project that aligns with their interests. Fellows are expected to work full-time on their research project during the summer months. In addition to financial support, fellows receive mentorship from their research mentors and participate in weekly research seminars.
The Craig Scholars Program is an excellent opportunity for medical students to gain research experience, learn about different research fields, and develop their research skills. The program also provides a valuable opportunity for students to network with faculty and other researchers.
