The Craig Summer Research Fellowship Program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UI COM) is a competitive program that provides financial support and mentorship to medical students who are interested in conducting research during the summer between their first and second years of medical school. The program is open to all UI COM medical students, regardless of their prior research experience.
Fellowships are awarded to students who have identified a research mentor and project that aligns with their interests. Fellows are expected to work full-time on their research project during the summer months. In addition to financial support, fellows receive mentorship from their research mentors and participate in weekly research seminars.
