IMHR was established in 2012 as a campus-wide unit committed to promoting interdisciplinary research, training, policy, and community partnerships to improve the health of vulnerable minority populations living locally, nationally, and internationally.
The Global Health Research Collaborative is a College of Medicine Dean’s office initiative aimed at building a community of global health researchers at UIC. The GHRC initiative is co-chaired by Dr. Geri Donenberg, PhD, Dr Stacie Geller, PhD and Dr Stevan Weine, MD and has a core advisory council comprised of Drs. Donna Baptiste, PhD, Geri Donenberg, PhD, Janet Lin, MD, MPH and Karen Peters, DrPH. The collaborative was formed in 2008 to strengthen and expand opportunities for innovative multidisciplinary global health research at University of Illinois College of Medicine.
