Raymond H. Curry, MD

Raymond H. Curry, MD, FACPSenior Associate Dean for Educational Affairs

Raymond H. Curry, MD, FACP is Senior Associate Dean for Educational Affairs at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and Clinical Professor of Medicine and Medical Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. As chief academic officer at the nation’s largest medical school, he oversees educational programs across the school’s four campuses in Chicago, Peoria, Rockford, and Urbana.

Kathleen Kashima, PhD is Senior Associate Dean of Students and oversees this function across the College’s four regional sites. Dean Kashima has been a valuable leader at the College of Medicine for 15 years, initially working for student and alumni affairs on the COM Rockford campus, and then recruited in 2006 for her role here in Chicago to lead and coordinate student services for medical students at all UI COM sites.

Dr. Kathleen Kashima Senior Associate Dean of Students

Student Resources

Chicago

Located in the world’s largest medical district, medical students on the Chicago campus get early and exceptional clinical experience. All students accompany physicians on rounds and learn to take patient histories starting in their first year. Fifty-three residency programs are available.

Peoria

Located in downtown Peoria’s medical district, students are within six blocks to more than 900 patient beds, a Level I trauma center, a full service tertiary children’s hospital, and the world-class Jump Simulation. Nineteen residencies and fellowships are available.

Rockford

Among its many well-respected programs, the Rockford campus boasts the Center for Rural Health Professions, which works to improve health and healthcare in rural communities. Rockford teaches M2’s – M4’s and offers a family medicine residency program.

Urbana

Located on the main campus of the University of Illinois, the College’s Urbana site offers students and residents a superb education that includes collaboration with colleagues across campus and cutting-edge research opportunities. Urbana also offers the dual-degree Medical Scholars Program.
