The Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UI COM) is responsible for developing and executing marketing and communications strategies that support the college’s mission, vision, and goals. The OMC team works closely with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to create and deliver content that is relevant, engaging, and informative. The OMC also manages the college’s website, social media channels, and other marketing materials.
The OMC’s primary goals are to:
- Promote the college’s reputation and brand
- Attract top students and faculty
- Increase awareness of the college’s programs and services
- Generate interest in the college’s research
The OMC uses a variety of marketing and communications tools to achieve its goals, including:
- Website content
- Social media
- Email marketing
- Public relations
- Illinois Medical Magazine
- Print materials

Marketing and Brand Management oversees University of Illinois Chicago’s licensing program for its institutional marks. The office protects and promotes the university’s registered trademarks, as well as other names, seals, logos, school colors and other indicia (“University Trademarks”) that are representative of the university. UIC trademarks may be used solely with permission of UIC.
