University Medical Student Council (UMSC)

Mission Statement

The University Medical Student Council (UMSC) is established with the intent of supporting and promoting the collective interests of the medical students of the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

This mission shall be achieved through fostering communication and cooperation among the four campuses of the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Meeting should run no later than 4 PM


Any voting member of UMSC (Including UMSC class representatives as well as presidents of a given campus, in addition to any representatives of UMSC affiliated organizations [e.g. HPSC]) must attend either in person or remotely (only the first and last meetings of the academic year require in person attendance, though attendance in person is always encouraged). If you cannot attend, please contact Kyler Shin,, to inform him as attendance is recorded. That being said, if you are a voting member of UMSC, and you cannot attend, you must find someone to participate in your place, as many voting policies require a certain attendance threshold before voting can take place.

Lunch will be provided, as well as a light breakfast served at 9:30 AM. If you have any dietary restrictions, please contact Kyler Shin,, and we would be happy to accommodate. Parking is free and is easily accessible outside of the College of Medicine. If you are attending in person, reminder to bring your student ID, as it will help expidiate security.
