Call for Nominations: ELAM and ELH

Executive Dean Mark I. Rosenblatt is pleased to solicit nominations for two prestigious and highly competitive women’s health and leadership programs for the 2025-26 academic year, the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) and Executive Leadership in Health Care (ELH) programs.

The deadline for the internal application is 5:00 pm CST, Thursday,  August 29, 2024, with decisions made by mid-September. Up to two candidates for each program will be selected following an internal selection and vetting process. Those candidates will then be invited to apply to the program as UICOM’s nominees. Those candidates selected to apply as UICOM’s nominees will then submit their on-line applications to ELAM/ELH by October 31, 2024, 11:59 p.m. Eastern time with a November 18 deadline for nomination and recommendation letters. ELAM

The Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) program, a one-year intensive leadership training program for senior women faculty who aspire to be leaders in academic medicine. ELAM is intended for women faculty who have achieved significant administrative experience in personnel and budget matters (e.g., as chair, division chief); express a clear desire to attain a leadership position; embrace strategic risk taking in their career path; possess growth opportunities, either formal or informal, within their institution; and have an expressed commitment from their institution to support their formal or informal advancement and opportunities for increased responsibility in the immediate to five-year range.

ELH

The Executive Leadership in Health Care (ELH) program is targeted to rising women at the equivalent of the associate professor level who are established experts in their domain. Candidates will have a track record of achievement in clinical program development (or other institutional-level activities that mark them as appropriate) and have aspirations to lead at the executive level in the next five years. A successful candidate will be an associate or full professor who has exhibited strong leadership qualities and has had administrative experience in personnel and budget management.
