- At the assistant professor level, determination of faculty track (Clinical or Adjunct) will be made by the department head.
- Members of other medical schools in Illinois holding a position of assistant professor or higher will be eligible only for the title of Lecturer at UIC.
- For non-salaried advanced rank promotions in the Clinical and Adjunct tracks, a dossier must be submitted for review by the College Committee on Clinical and Adjunct Appointments and Promotions (CAAP). See below for submission requirements.

NON-SALARIED PROMOTIONS
Units should submit 0% promotion packets to the College by uploading them into the appropriate COM P&T submissions folder in Box. Please contact Shannon Dowty for access to your unit’s Box folder.

- Information Summary Form
- Candidate’s current CV – PDF format
- Sample publications – 1 to 3 publications or other supporting documentation demonstrating engagement in scholarly activity
0-50% ADVANCED RANK NEW APPOINTMENTS
- Appointment Form – an updated 0-50% Advanced Rank New Appointment form will soon be posted here.
- Applications may be submitted at any point in the year and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

ACE appointments
Affiliate Clinical Educator appointments are appropriate for non-salaried physicians at affiliated clinical sites who supervise UI COM students and do not hold a non-tenure track volunteer faculty appointment.
