Non-Salaried Appointments and Promotions
- At the assistant professor level, determination of faculty track (Clinical or Adjunct) will be made by the department head.
- Members of other medical schools in Illinois holding a position of assistant professor or higher will be eligible only for the title of Lecturer at UIC.
- For non-salaried advanced rank appointments and promotions in the Clinical and Adjunct tracks, a dossier must be submitted for review by the College Committee on Clinical and Adjunct Appointments and Promotions (CAAP). See below for submission requirements.

- Departments are asked to submit their Anticipated Non-Salaried Appointment and Promotions list to COM Faculty Affairs by Friday, January 24, 2025.
Friday, March 21, 2025
- Paperwork due for non-salaried advanced rank appointments and promotions in the Clinical and Adjunct tracks.

College of Medicine Submission Requirements
Units should submit non-salaried promotion and advanced rank new appointment packets to the College by uploading them into the appropriate COM P&T submissions folder in Box. Please contact Rosa Setterstrom for access to your unit’s Box folder.
Affixing scanned signature images is a suitable alternative to securing original signatures.
- Information Summary Form (ISF) – Word format
- Appointment and Promotion Forms – Word format plus PDF files of external documents
- Candidate’s current CV – Word or PDF format
- Sample publications – 1 to 3 publications or other supporting documentation providing evidence for the candidate’s engagement in scholarly activity
